Gearbox developing Duke Nukem forever?

I really hope Gearbox follows 3D Realms' lead and doesn't put their own unique "spin" on it.

Ever since Blue Shift, Gearbox has been nothing but a fail train to me.

Well, every game they've ever made as been good, and almost all of the games they produced have been good... soooo no.

Granted Forever has the worst development history ever, but all of their games have been good.

Why do we even give this game the time of the day? The original game may have been ground-breaking but this game has NO hope of achieving anything similar. All it will be is a plodding FPS game we've seen a million times already.

Wouldn't surprise me that a Dallas-based developer would pick Duke back up again. It's kind of the golden child of the city, gaming-wise. Glad to see it will still be a Texas 'thang'. ;)

It doesn't have to be ground breaking as long as its fun. The market is full of rather serious shooters atm be it Battlefield, COD, MOH, L4D etc etc. Theres certainly room for a light hearted shooter like this and the closest competition it will likely have is Serious Sam 3.
