+Warwagon MVC Posted July 20, 2003 MVC Share Posted July 20, 2003 Reference (Kazaa = Kazaa k++) I recently got connected.. well not recently about 30 dayz ago I got "wireless Internet" spose to be 512kb from the local town here. The Connection speeds are great for everything but Kazaa... with Kazaa I get about any were from .01 to .8 . Yes I know about downloading from fast people...but in this case it is not the problem.. Looking for a solution I payed for 1 month of HTTP-Tunnel.. which is a high speed proxy server. and then on the same downloads which I got .01 to .8 I was now getting 8kb to 70kb which is good. My question is ...the ISP must have blocked Kazaa in some way, would anyone know how to go around what ever they have done so I can just use Kazaa normally again. or some free software solution that does the same thing. I do have my connection ..networked to this computer through my server which has ICS enabled.. so to test it out I put Kazaa on the server temporally as well and still got the same low speeds. Any suggestions would be great... thanx
MxxCon
sounds like your isp is throutling kazaa port. try to change it from 1214 to something else..such as 80. but then if your isp is using protocol recognition you are SOL.
+Warwagon MVC Posted July 20, 2003 Author MVC Share Posted July 20, 2003 well not really SOL .. I can still use Http-Tunnel.. but if I don't have to pay for extra I would prefer not too.. heh
tickLemeD
I'd be upset if they be throttling my stuff. As if the isp isn't bad enough
Dark2020
try using a socks proxy, u could find a working one from the many lists around and use it in kazaa, then tell us what happens
aldo
I think they'll just be throttling the port as the protocol dection software is incredbily expensive and i can't see a local ISP affording it. So just change the port to something like 8342 - don't use port 80 as it will interfere if you want to set up a webserver (for those peeps who do have it on port 80, goto http://localhost...). If they are doing a whitelist (ie ALL ports are throttled apart from some, like 110, 21, 80) then use one of those.
+Warwagon MVC Posted July 23, 2003 Author MVC Share Posted July 23, 2003 Tried that 8342 port as the incoming port in kazaa and it is still slow as before
Oblivion
Try A free Proxy & Firewall bypasser u can say from this link Hopster . But ONE limitation if u dont pay for its full service download speed is limited to 2Kb/s :( , sadly my ISP has blocked Kazaa and so im in search of something like this too which could somehow bypass firewalls & proxies
