alicefred
Hello friends.. I am new to PlayStation 3 world, got it only a few weeks ago from http://www.dealrocker.com/promotions/toysrus/deals/. For some reason whenever I download demos, it takes several hours and when I try to install it I get this error code "80029564". This is my first PS3, so I can't figure out the reason behind this problem. Does anyone else have this problem lately? Please point me in the right direction and help me to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.
+Anarkii Subscriber² Posted August 16, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted August 16, 2010 HOW TO FIX:•If you are on wireless switch to the Ethernet cable (makes the download faster too) •The server might be busy, try again later •If a PC version is available then get it from the PC (computer) [uPDATE IN FIX] As said by TheCyndicate : "This issue is caused by faulty RAM in the PS3. The XD-Ram is somehow damaged during the build process of the unit, or they have A LOT of bad batches. Either way, when you download anything, it gets corrupted because of bad ram" So there you have it. You got a crap/broken PS3 from a crap website that offers 'deals'. Moral of the story, buy your gaming consoles from reputable places.

+Anarkii Subscriber² Posted August 16, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted August 16, 2010 I have a feeling he's just advertising that crap site. I do as well. But well, if you get free PS3's from there, expect them to be shoddy with faulty RAM :p So, not much of a positive advertisement lol

monkey13
Not sure I see anything wrong with the dealrocker site myself. Badly designed yes but it just provides pricing info on deals and links to other sites. It looks rubbish but unless it a phishing scam and you are not really linked through to ToysRUs then I don't see a problem. I use something similar HotUKDeals and for game related items only Dealspwn Not much of an add if one post is directing people to it and the other telling them about a shoddy product obtained through it.
