  1. 1. Which design do you prefer?

Question

Hey guys,

I'm playing around with a few pet project at the moment... and one of them is a Metro inspired Facebook Desktop Client. I've been messing around with a basic layout for a few days now (as well as messing with some working code). They're nothing too amazing, but I've gotten down to 3 designs I'm thinking about - question is, which one do you guys prefer / think I should go with? (Click on them for larger views)

I know they're not much to go off, and they are pretty similar looking, but I'm having a hard time choosing personally. Here's another example of Designs 1 & 3:

1st one is my favourite as it has the familiar blue bar at the top and is more true to the design of the real facebook. They all look pretty awesome though (Y)

1) Like the blue facebook header, don't like the post textbox

2) Like the gradient, but how to post?

3) Like the scroll and search box, but how to post?

You should also remove the standard Windows chrome (see Metrotwit)

I've just seen this, and voted for number 1 :D

I realise this is an oldish thread, but is this still going, Johnny? I've been searching high and low for a Facebook desktop client with a Metro-inspired design, as I don't currently have time to create one. I'd love to use something like this :) Something like this would be perfect for my needs, especially if it allows us to set options so notifications of News Feed stories can popup in one of the corners of Windows as soon as they're posted.

EDIT: I agree with the above poster about removing the window frame. I've done this with a Windows Forms app before by setting the border properly that removes the frame and creating my own Minimise, Maximise, and Close buttons.
