Teebor
Since hollywood like rehashing old films in to the modern (and usually ruining them) I got to thinking what OLD games would people like to see remade? Not really counting things like Doom as Doom3 whilst being a spiritual successor was pretty much a modernising remake anyway. I mean games like X Wing which would be great if Lucasarts were to modernise that, I think it would look and play amazing on todays hardware. And doing the trench run would be AMAZING Of course I am aware of the arcade machine, but again I'm talking home gaming.
Billus
Remakes are almost always bad. Speedball(?) was a great classic game and the remake was just horrendous. There are very few side-scrolling dos games one would tamper with like Commander Keen. I think that we should cherish the originals and not ruin the memory with remakes. MR_Candyman
Dune (yes, the original game) Beneath a Steel Sky Walker (for the Amiga) Zool Wing Commander Mechwarrior (though I hear there's a new one in development) Ivan Ironman Stewart's Super Off Road Space Taxi These are games I think would do well being remade and released today EDIT: Add Freespace and Homeworld to that list

You raise a good point, maybe we should include a how not to do it, or if you were to do it how you would do it to make sure it was done right? Dogward
Any "Good'Old Time" Sierra adventure game... I know there are remakes and fan-fiction games... But I would love to see professional remakes of many of the * Quest series (King's Quest, Police Quest, Quest For Glory, Leisure Suite Larry, Space Quest... and so many more). I Love'em all !
