Right click the Zip file, choose "Open With", then "Choose Default Program ...", select whatever Zip software you use and then tick "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" ?

The problem is that I cannot seem to find any software on here to open zip files with. Otherwise I would have tried that. But thanks.

Install something like WinRAR or 7zip, use that, should show up in that list or even be able to integrate into the right-click shell.

But yes, it's normal for Windows' own Zip software not to show up in that menu.

Assuming Vista still uses zipfldr.dll...

Run > regsvr32 zipfldr.dll
