+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted August 24, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted August 24, 2010 Earlier this year, we introduced the PlayStation Protection Plan, an extended service plan for thePlayStation 3 and PSP system. This service was introduced to give gamers peace of mind by providing an additional one or two years of coverage on top of their one year limited manufacturer's warranty. Some of the plan benefits include free shipping, no hidden fees or deductibles and utilization of OEM parts and service technicians?PS3 plans are now available for download directly from the PlayStation Store. However, in continuing our goal to provide PlayStation Plus subscribers with exclusive offerings and even more value to their entertainment experience on the PlayStation Network, we are now offering the PlayStation Protection Plan to subscribers for a discounted price. PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to purchase a two year PS3 plan for 25% off (PlayStation Plus price $44.99, original price $59.99) Considering the PS3 one year plan is $44.99, PLUS members get two years for the price of one! In order to qualify for any of the plans, your PlayStation 3 must still be within its one-year original manufacturer's warranty. We are happy to continue to offer new features to the PlayStation Plus subscribers. With a little less than three months in the books, PlayStation Plus continues to evolve giving gamers an excellent set of content and features for their PlayStation 3. Additional information on the PlayStation Protection Plan can be found here. shakey
+1 I can see it being good for.people who still have the BC models, but for me...meh. I just wish they would add something good to PS+ soon... No kidding. No invite to the new zombie game, no free games to play ( except for 1 hour.. if you want to download a 8 gig game for 1 hour play that is ), no free movies. Just some themes and avatars that we get free or for a few extra bucks lol. The ps1 games are a joke on the network. They look horrible on new screens, along with just horrible controls now lol. Plus needs to step up its game before the next 2 months ends, or I wont be renewing. On a side note.... I just received my Hulu Plus Invite... but when I try to sign up, it says on one of the fields to enter credit card information, and that I will be charged 9.99 that instant for the Hulu Preview invite..... What part about preview requires me to pay a monthly subscription? I have yet to test this out on the PS3 due to not wanting to pay 10 bucks for a hulu preview lol. Am I looking at this wrong, will they not charge me instantly and instead just take my credit information for when the preview runs out and then charge me??? stupid hulu lol. Unrealistic
I might be interested in this as I have a first-gen PS3. Can you purchase this if the original warranty is expired?

shakey
Hulu is not free. The only thing that is free is the app for the PS3. I know Hulu Plus isn't free. But if you are getting a "Preview" of the service, it should be. I don't understand why I would still be charged 9.99 for a "preview" of the service..... Email states : "Hello from Hulu, Good news! Your Hulu Plus preview invite is ready. To get started, click on the link below (or paste it into your browser): " But clicking that link is basically just a Hulu Plus subscription. They need to completely omit the "preview" part out, or be more clear about what it is I'm having to pay for exactly.

I take my previous statement back. That's just ridiculous, Sony should offer this for both types of systems, I don't see why they can't? All they need to do is limit the amount of time you have to stay with the service (say, a year) and it's a win-win for Sony and the consumer. Then people do what they did in the UK to ruin firstplay or whatever it was called, buy 3 year old broken PS3s on ebay and send them in for a new one. Continuous Play? What I mean is that you need to have had this going on a certain PS3 for so long before you can send it in. Make it so you can't un license or license a new PS3 within the same year or something. I just think that now they've got this it seems rather pointless to many consumers.
