Timmah339
hi all, i own a non hdcp monitor with dvi and vga inputs. the dvi input is taken my my desktop, which leaves the vga port. would something like this actually work? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Playstation-Nintendo-Monitor-Cable-Lead/dp/B001FU1EMW/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1283099486&sr=1-1 ive tried hooking up a dvi to hdmi adapter, but it didn't work. in short, is there any inexpensive way to directly hook up a ps3 to a non-hdcp monitor? also, i can't use hd fury, too much money. D. S. Veteran Posted August 29, 2010 Veteran Share Posted August 29, 2010 HDFury is pretty much your only chance. The PS3 will not work on a non-HDCP compliant monitor.

pjak
You'd be better off getting a new HDMI monitor (at least 22") - should cost you around the £150 mark...
Xerino
not entirely true, the PS3 will display on a non-hdcp monitor, most games will as well, just bluray movies will not work with it, I once had a PS3 hooked up to a 21 inch sony trinitron monitor (CRT) with a component to vga adapter, and games worked fine, movies did not. LiquidSolstice
I tried this many times with my friend's PS3. It simply will not work (DVI>HDMI Adapter).
SnowRanger13
I've tried with my PS3 with a HDMI to DVI adapter, couldn't get any picture at all. Even did the startup command to reset the video settings a couple of times. I've done PS3 to my newer monitor using HDMI w/HDCP and worked great.
