PS3 on non-HDCP monitor?

Recommended Posts

hi all, i own a non hdcp monitor with dvi and vga inputs. the dvi input is taken my my desktop, which leaves the vga port. would something like this actually work?

ive tried hooking up a dvi to hdmi adapter, but it didn't work. in short, is there any inexpensive way to directly hook up a ps3 to a non-hdcp monitor? also, i can't use hd fury, too much money.

not entirely true, the PS3 will display on a non-hdcp monitor, most games will as well, just bluray movies will not work with it, I once had a PS3 hooked up to a 21 inch sony trinitron monitor (CRT) with a component to vga adapter, and games worked fine, movies did not.

I've tried with my PS3 with a HDMI to DVI adapter, couldn't get any picture at all. Even did the startup command to reset the video settings a couple of times.

I've done PS3 to my newer monitor using HDMI w/HDCP and worked great.
