Massiveterra Share Posted September 2, 2010 http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/01/epics-spectacular-unreal-engine-3-tech-demo-free-at-itunes-app/ Did you oooh and ahh at the fantastic gaming graphics that accompanied today's Apple keynote? You won't have to wait for next week's iOS 4.1 to get a taste of those textures for yourself. Though the full-on gladiator dueling of Epic's "Project Sword" may be a while off, you can get your hot little hands on "Epic Citadel" right now, a 82.2 megabyte download that explores a beautiful medieval castle town. Oh, and did we mention it's free? Even id Software's mindblowing 60FPS Rage demo must be quaking in its boots right about now. Guest Share Posted September 2, 2010 Amazing really, shame about the controls. Not much iphone developers can do about that though.
Elliot B. Share Posted September 2, 2010 Amazing really, shame about the controls. Not much iphone developers can do about that though. Yeh, the controls (like others that use the same style) are horrible.
KeR Share Posted September 2, 2010 The graphics are amazing, controls are real rough though.
Massiveterra Author Share Posted September 2, 2010 Good thing you can just tap to move. Also good thing this is for a hack and slash game based on swipe mechanics rather than a FPS I do find it strange though that others are having frame rate issues. The game is pretty stable on my 4g
majortom1981 Share Posted September 2, 2010 The frame rate is great on my iphone 4g . I made sure i closed all programs though. I was very impressed at the graphics . Didnt expect those graphics on a phone
Massiveterra Author Share Posted September 2, 2010 I found that swiping with the right thumb across the screen instead of using the "thumbstick" for looking makes the controls so much more bearable Also, the textures are pretty impressive. I first noticed them in the tents area. The water looks pretty weak though
rajputwarrior Share Posted September 3, 2010 finally played around with it looks and runs unreal on my iphone 4. phones shouldn't be able to do this...
Hell-In-A-Handbasket Share Posted September 3, 2010 Got it on the iPad, so I'm interested, just debating on what the game will run like when there are other things going on like AI
KoL Veteran Share Posted September 3, 2010 Looks amazing but I don't like the controls. That is something I don't like about games on the iPhone, controls.
SMELTN Share Posted September 3, 2010 It definitely has that slow turn movement, but like Massiveterra said, that God it isn't a FPS.
