What's the most expensive web development rate you've heard?

Question

Hey guys,

I'm thinking of restructuring my web development rates and wondering how bold I can go. I will say right away that I'm not talking like $10-20 per hour blog skinning. I mean either custom web application development or design for high profile clients at a confident three figures per hour. What's the highest rate anybody quotes or has been quoted?

well, it kinda depends on your ability/experience, but i wouldn't be too upset to see this kind of break down on an invoice as a customer:

worker bee: ~£750/day

project manager: ~£950/day

account management: ~£1100/day

i'd say that sounds pretty reasonable, but i know the IBMs of the this world generally charge double that sort of money.. hard to to justify the value there though

any help? translate to USD as you see fit :)

Depends really. If it is a short term contract (~3 months) then somewhere in the range of $160/Hour and a long term then $120/Hour.

Many clients prefer per day rate where the number of hours are not counted so you will have to be careful not to quote something for a day realising you have to work for 12 hours that day!
