+Audioboxer Subscriber² Posted September 22, 2010 Subscriber² Share Posted September 22, 2010 3D Blu-ray playback just not enough for you PS3 owners out there? Then how about a new 3D album app that lets you spy your three dimensional snaps on your new TV too? That's the premise behind PlayMemories, a new app for the PS3 which Sony says will be good to go at the end of September. It's a neat gallery application which lets you check out 2D and 3D shots on your telly. You can zoom in using SixAxis or DualShock controls too. Of course, this is a great way for Sony to convince punters to splash out on pricey new cameras packing 3D sweep panorama modes, such as the ace NEX-3 and WX5. Is this enough to tempt you into buying a 3D telly? Or is Sony taking it too far with this 3D lark? Sound off on our Facebook and Twitter pages. SaltLife
I don't see what the problem is.... It's one more simple feature that sony has implemented to cater to those who have jumped on the technology bandwagon. This is no different than the 3DS incorporating the same functionality into their handheld device. If I had a 3D capable TV/glasses I certainly would enjoy having it, I just don't personally have the money to afford and/or can justify spending the money on such a thing, so it's pointless to me. Would I have rather seen them make "cross chat", sure but I don't think they have done anything wrong by implementing this feature
