Gotenks98
I do not see the option for it in power options in control panel. I have this option on my win2k partition but not in xp. What gives?
mtgriffith
It's in the same place it was in Windows 2000. Click on the screensaver tab in the display properties and choose the power button.
Roger H. Veteran Posted January 1, 2002 Veteran Share Posted January 1, 2002 haha.. sometimes you just gotta look. In XP, just go to Control Panel and you can either click "Switch To Classic View" (top left) or just click "Performance and Maintenance" then you'll see Power Options. The second option is to do what "mtgriffith" said... just right-click the desktop and choose properties then go to the ScreenSaver tab and look. Oh.. secondly, if you still don't see it then your PC (In XP) wont be able to do it. XP requires a more strick accordance to the ACPI spec than Windows 2k so if it worked in 2k that doesn't guarantee it to work in XP.
jebus
Standby for me has always been enabled if the system detects you have the right system that will support it (APM, ACPI). If not, just check your Power settings.
