hifive
I have a PS2, and a 6 Year Old brother. Since I have a DVD Burner, I would love to be able to back up all my games. So I was wondering.. what's the best PS2 Mod Chip? And where can I get it? Also, is there an illustration online to help explain the soldering? Thanks. --EDIT-- Ugh. I just found a nice illustration.. and soldering these things on are way too hard. What are some good no solder/usb chips? What are the disadvantages of those? Thanks. Sk_illed
I bought my ps1 mod chip from www.gocybershop.ca about 3 weeks ago... I wouldnt recommend soldering it unless u are a soldering master... Im suprised my playstation still works at all.... but it plays my backups fine... mine was just 8 wires.... I can imagine what a nightmare 22 wires would be.... can anyone recommend a GOOD no solder ps2 mod chip from gocybershop?
Ben_Chep
Every one says to go for the Messiah 2 Pro v1.30 but it has to be soldered, have you considered paying a litle extra and getting it soldered for you? If you really don't want to have a soldered chip then there are a few available, check out this store http://www.modchipstore.com/customer/home.php They have a number of no solder chips that appear on paper to have the same features and functionality as a chip that has to be soldered. oojaxxoo
do all no-solder modchips require boot discs for backups?
sdkaneda
soldering is ass easy. just follow isntructions and you'd have to be in the middle of a seizure to screw it up.

I ended up melting 2 resisters completely off on my psx (still works tho) theres no way in h3ll I would do that to a ps2 especially afer seeing the 22 wire instructions... and no Im not a soldering noob
