Joel
The company I work for manufactures plastic food containers. On the plastic lid of these containers there is a plastic dial, labeled with the first letter of every month, JFMAMJJASOND. This dial is meant to be set by the consumer so that they know when they put the container in the fridge or freezer. So this idiot customer calls long distance from New York to ask if the dial changes by itself in the freezer and if it indicates how long the food is good for. When the person in Customer Service explained that it's meant to be set by the consumer as a guide to when it was stored only, she complained that nobody explained this to her when she bought it, and that the FOOD CONTAINER should come with instructions because it's too complicated. Then she complained that she had to call long distance to learn this. How ****ing stupid do you have to be to get confused by a plastic food container?

Etc.
ROFL. The fact that the lady even thought the container would somehow automatically know how long her food was good for is astounding.

Chicane-UK Veteran Posted July 25, 2003 Veteran Share Posted July 25, 2003 My god.. some people are just so incredibly dense. I can sympathise because I do tech support for a college.. and I can only assume that some of the people that work there leave their brains at home before they come to work on a day. kjordan2001
Hrm, I'm confused...It has a dial with the first letter of every month? There are several months that begin with the same letter...so how do you know which month you put it in then without messing with the dial....and once you've messed with it, you have to remember to set it back to that month again...sounds like a hassle to me ;) Guess I'm imagining it all wrong or something...Hrm, and what kind of food lasts that long that you couldn't tell if it was put in there months ago? Doesn't food usually only look good for a couple weeks? Unless this is airtight stuff... Edited July 25, 2003 by kjordan2001

Unless this is airtight stuff... judging by the picture it looks like an open dial...it would probably have an arrow or something pointing to one letter and you can determine the month by looking at where it is relative to the other months w/o having to move the dial and food stays for months if you freeze it so it is probably mostly designed for the freezer
