I use this site http://sameip.org/ip/68.180.151.96 and there are other site's on the same server that are down, but some are up. I am sure that the site's are geographically distributed so maybe some site's are affected and some aren't. Maybe they are doing maintenance or something, but if one server has to be down, shouldn't they have other ones up to cover for it?
If something is going on Y! should have done something to make people aware of this before it happens so they can plan. Maybe there's some unexpected downtime, but they should still let us know what's going on, even if it's not as soon as we would like...

Our engineers are aware of the issue and are actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible.
I had to go to the help pages to find that, I was about to contact them and seen that. They should have made that page more published, I shoudln't have had to start to fill out the form for which department my help request should go to...
