Alpha blending not working?

Recommended Posts

Heyy,

Alpha blending doesn't work on this XP computer... does it need to be enabled?

Wherever a shadow is supposed to be, there is bright white. It doesn't look too good as you could imagine.

Any ideas??

LOL here ya go guys...

You can see it in Winamp (it is supposed to be transparent), around CD Burner, those folders.

BTW, this isn't my real desktop, I just put those there to show y'all.

THanks!

Hmmm. Possibly this could help:

Download the Windows XP Powertoys. Run TweakUI. On the left side, choose "Repair". Set the drop-down box to "Rebuild Icons" (it should already be set to that) and click the repair button. Wait a few seconds. The icons on your desktop may be rearranged. See if this helps. If not, reply.

It looks like it's just a few shody icons. Notice how the My Documents folder icon looks fine but the 'English' folder is messed up.

NEway, press Windows button and Break [top right], click Advanced and then under Performance click Settings and look in there. Try changing it to best appearance to turn on all features and see if that fixes it... if not it's 'probably' shoddy icons or a really messed up install.
