  UFC hating on Fitch.

Wow... foreshadowing. It's a brand new world in the WW division: 2012 starts with GSP and Fitch not being the #1 and 2 welterweight's in the world (GSP by long absence and Fitch due to finally losing). Condit, Diaz, Ellenberger, Kampmann and Alves are the top dogs now.

So... Cyborg tested positive for steroids. Anyone suprised, seeing how she was 145 solid pounds of muscle despite being a woman? The 145lb WMMA division is totally dead right now, with Rousey dropping to 135 for a title shot. Only Carano could save it but she's done getting beat up for a living.

Saw her at sports authority today buying a bigger cup. j/k

So Henderson was offered the Ant?nio Rog?rio Nogueira but passed on it. Alexander Gustafsson will be fighting Nogueira in Sweden. This only fuels the fire that Rashad is going to get passed over for the title shot (provided that he beats Phil Davis; he will) in favor of a Bones vs Hendo.

Mu?oz is out with an injury, Bisping is in. Winner of Sonnen vs Bisping fights for the title. Wooot!

Also, Muhammed Lawal tested positive for PED. Shame on him. And it's no garden variety ones either, designer steroids. Fit for a king I guess.

I really should cheer Bisping on in that one, but I can't help but think Sonnen is going to tackle him, and pound his face into the mat. Seems like an easy ride to the title fight for Chael.

Mu?oz wasn't going to be unsurmountable either. He hadn't fought any Top 10 MW outside of Okami (and lost), so this was going to be his make or break fight. Silva vs Sonnen II is going to sell, sell, sell.

As much as I can't stand Bisping, this is not going to be a very easy walk for Chael, but I could be wrong.

The question that will determine the outcome of this fight is: will Bisping's defensive wrestling be strong enough to withstand Chael's takedowns? I don't think it will. Bisping's cardio was also a bit dodgy on the Mayhem fight and he's fighting within 2 months of his last fight. I don't think he has what it takes to challenge for the title. I wouldn't give him an edge against Mu?oz, so I can't really give him any advantage against Sonnen.

Jim Miller vs Nate Diaz announced for UFC on FOX 3. Will Diaz be able to do his thing against Miller's iron chin?

Ronda Rousey is the Paul Harris of WMMA. GODDAMN! You know what she's going to do but you're powerless to stop her. Tate's grappling wasn't really on the same level as hers and since her striking isn't that good as well, she clinched a lot and got taken down by judo throws. The part were I laughed a bit was when Rousey got full mount, she dropped some, for lack of a better word, girly shots on Miesha's face who, instead of scooting her hips and trying to get out from under her, protected her face and therefore gave up both arms just ripe for an armbar.

Rousey will probably armbar Sarah Kaufmann next. But don't get crazy and think she would beat Cris Santos. Santos has won world class BJJ competitions and more importantly, knows how to strike and hits like a train.

So what's the word on Tate's arm? She going to be out for another year recuperating before being thrown back into the ring to fight for the belt again?

Did anyone see the look Kaufman had on her face after Rousey won? She looked just a bit worried to me

Oh and Rousey looked damn hot in those shorty shorts she was wearing, nice ass too

Probably 4-5 months before she can start training again, if not more. Kaufman is a very grounded fighter now, as she should be after calling for a Main Event fight and getting pounded by Marloes Coenen. She knows Rousey is a very tough fight or her. She showed some striking prowess in her fight but ate a ton of shots as well. She also isn't a very good grappler. I think she knows that there really isn't a realistically accessible path for her to win the fight. I, for one, like it when fighters are aware of their own limitations. Everyone wants to be a champion, sure, but some times you just need to get real. It's a nice contrast to ludicrous situations like Luiz Can? saying that he wants to be a champion at LHW in the same event where Jon Jones made Shogun, a much superior fighter to Can?, his bitch.

Justin Lawrence looked hella slick!

When he said he trained with Anderson Silva, I kind of laughed. Krause must have laughed too. He wasn't laughing after the fight, he wasn't even conscious.

Very, very good guys.

Him, Mike Rio, Cristiano Marcello and Darren Cruikshank are the guys to watch out for. People are harping on about Sam Sicilia but I think his win was kind of a premature stoppage. Bonus points for looking like Hendricks vs Fitch.

The fight is at around 2:10:00.

And here's this amazing backhand KO by Bob Sapp

Did you get to see the beatdown Joe Warren got this past weekend from Curran. Damn, talk about late late stoppage.

Yes. It was a very, very late stoppage. Warren was sent directly to the hospital.

Warren was pretty much just standing due to the force of the punches impacting his face. Much like James Thompson in his first fight with Mariusz Pudzianowski where he was out and woken up immediately after with another punch.

Heres another angle not shown in the video. Looks like a cheap shot if you ask me. I'm all for not touching gloves though so we can stop having these controversies. They already touch when the ref brings the fighters to the center of the ring.

Lawrence is still a beast!

He sure is. But had not the fight been live, it would have been a pretty foreshadowing episode.

Apple releases new Pride Edition sports bands for the Apple Watch
      by João Carrasqueira

Around this time of the year, some companies join the celebration of Pride Month and the Stonewall riots. Apple has also done this for the past few years, with watch bands for the Apple Watch making use of the multi-colored stripes in the Pride flag, and this year, the company is doing it again.

This time around, the company is releasing two new rubber sports bands in the theme of Pride. One is the regular sports band, which basically just looks like the pride flag, except it wraps around your wrist. There's also a Pride flag watch face to match. The other is part of the lineup of Nike-branded bands, and it features a much more subtle implementation of the Pride colors, along with an equally subtle watch face. The new watch faces will arrive with watchOS 6.2.5.

As usual, sales of these Pride Edition watch bands help support organizations that work for the LGBT community, including GLSEN, PFLAG, The Trevor project, and more.

In 2018, Apple used a nylon watch band to promote the Pride celebrations, but this year, you can only get the multi-colored look in the rubber bands, and it doesn't look like you can buy the previous editions from Apple. On the bright side, every generation of the Apple Watch uses the same size fitting for the bands, so you can still get the new bands if you have an older model. You can get the regular watch band here and the Nike version here, and both cost $49.

Microsoft is making Pride Type Covers for Surface PCs
      by Rich Woods

Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, Microsoft is producing new Type Covers and skins for its Surface PCs and celebrating the Pride community. While the company hasn't announced the new accessories just yet, leakster WalkingCat has discovered a video showing them off.

The video shows a Type Cover that says 'Pride' in the traditional rainbow colors, and a skin with the multicolored stripes.

Naturally, things like pricing and availability are unconfirmed, so if you want to get your hands on them, you'll have to wait. The PCs shown in the video are from the Surface Pro lineup, so it's also not clear if there will be variants of the Type Cover for the Surface Go, or if there will be variants of the skin for other Surface PCs.

The anniversary of the Stonewall Riots is on June 28, so it seems likely that we'll learn more about Microsoft's plans for these accessories closer to that date.

Apple's gay pride watch face blocked in Russia
      by Sharath Ravishankar

Apple has long been a proponent for gay pride and empowerment, what with its CEO being an openly gay man. This has been reflected, for instance, with this band for the Apple Watch.

The Watch also has a special watch face in tandem with this accessory - a vertical strip of colors representing gay pride - that has, as of the past couple months, been blocked in Russia. Mounting reports from users in the country speak of this option simply not existing on both the Watch app on their respective iPhones, as well as on the Watches themselves.

Further investigation by iOS developer Guilherme Rambo have revealed that the pride watch face is hardcoded to vanish for users in Russia locales. This was confirmed by the good folks from The Verge, who observed this phenomenon by changing their iOS device's location to Russia.

As disappointing as this move must be for many, this does come in light of Russia's rising intolerance against the gay community, which reached its peak when the country passed an anti-gay propaganda law in 2013. Incidentally, the aforementioned watch band isn't being sold in Russia either, so it's easy to come to the conclusion that Apple is simply looking to avoid litigation. The company has released no statement so far on this matter.

Twitch streamer masquerades UFC 218 live event as game stream
      by Timi Cantisano

Over the years, watching other people play video games has become quite popular, with Twitch being one of the main platforms users have come to rely on when showing off their skills. Despite it being a streaming platform for user-created content, the service has been used in the past to stream copyrighted materials like sports matches and more.

While these typically get flagged and removed, it looks like one enterprising streamer had a bit of fun over the weekend, broadcasting UFC 218, which was the rematch bout between Max Holloway and Jose Aldo, while making it look like he was actually playing a game. The broadcaster, AJ Lester, was fully equipped with control in hand, headphones on, and also had reactions to the action as well. You can see a small clip of the action above, as Lester has now removed the stream from his Twitch channel.

Although this is comical and has gained Lester a moment of internet fame, there is the possibility that he could be facing some serious consequences. For now, he has stated that he has not heard anything in regards to copyright violations.

      Samsung announces VR Live Pass
      by Paul Hill

Samsung has announced VR Live Pass for Gear VR, an initiative which will allow users to stream live events to their Gear VR from new partners including UFC, X Games and Live Nation. The live events will be immersive broadcasts from sporting and music events among other things. Samsung will launch Live Pass through the Samsung VR app in early June.

Younghee Lee, CMO and Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics, said:

Events will begin broadcasting in June with some already being announced, they include:

UFC 212: Aldo vs Holloway, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, June 3, 2017. X Games Minneapolis, USA July 13 – 16, 2017: the event includes BMX riders and skaters including Jimmy Wilkins, Chad Kerley and Jagger Eaton. Live Music Concert with International Artists, USA August 2017. One warning that should be noted, however, is that the UFC 212 main card, including the fight mentioned above, won’t be available for users in the US and New Zealand. Gear VR users in those regions will only be able to watch the UFC Fight Pass preliminaries.
