Neo_Genesis
yeah, i get the same problems sometimes. it usually only occurs when my computer is on too long, or i exit and restart half-life too many times. also, i have this problem that when it starts to load the server, the screen is only 3/4 the size it should be. my stats are: amd athlon 900 384mb of p133 ram geforce 2 pro, 64mb of ddr ram i think the problem MIGHT be geforce drivers. also, the screensize error goes away when i don't force 16bit color
suprfli
check this out: http://www.tweakxp.com/tweakxp/display.asp?id=214 from what i've read it's pretty tough to get HL and winXP working together w/o having problems.
Thecoz
The problem is simple it is if openGL loads more than once durrin the same execution of hl.exe if you leave a game so taht openGL must be loaded again you must reload hl.exe to prevent the freeze fom occuring. zornr0t
I had this problem too with CS freezing on exit. To avoid it I began typing "quit" from the console to exit the game. That seemed to bypass the problems which seemed to be a video mode switching problem between the game's resolution and the menu resolution. There have also been quite a few other times where I get odd resolutions or a quarter of my screen showing the menu and the rest showing the desktop and so forth. But what do you expect from a 4 year old game based off of Quake1? Zoran
murfster
I use zornr0t method (quit in console) or give it the 3-finger-salute (err...Ctrl+Alt+Del)-->Task Manager-->Processes-->hl.exe-->End Process. Quit in console has been about 75% effective. 3FS is 100% effective (to date).
IceHawk
The halflife menu SHOULD use the resolution the game is running at, it's quicker and much more stable. Halflife has horrible coding, so this happens.
