DrunknMunky Veteran Posted October 27, 2010 Veteran Share Posted October 27, 2010 Yeah but Sony: Product overheating a year from release, okay we'll fix it first. Can I borrow your crystal ball sometime? :p But hell, it's not like the PS3 ever overheats right ;) But Brian is also right, sure the batteries are a different division but they are still made by Sony. HawkMan
uh...how the hell do you use a touchpad on the BACK of the PSP?!?!?!?? Does not compute. Thee license some MS patents where you fingers on the touch screen on the back will be overlayed as shadows, or markers on the screen.

HawkMan
Actually it didn't overheat. overheating would imply it stopped working from being to hot. which they didn't. they had a problem with heat/cool cycles. which for v average users turning it on and off once a day, would cause mainboard deformation and solder issues after roughly year. Granted if it had had a lower operating temperature this flexing and soldering issue wouldn't have occurred. but the heat was well within specs for the device, the design just wasn't able to cope with the heat/cooling cycles. rajputwarrior
It sure did, but what does that have to do with this topic. so it's okay to compare the situation to another product that has nothing to do with gaming but made by the same company, but comparing it to another direct competing product from another company is bad?

DMPeyerStrikesBack
Sure gaming wise the PSP is better but you can not simply dismiss the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Many, many people are just casual gamers. Before the iPhone and iPod touch existed the only option was a PSP or DS. Now you have two devices that have a ton of games, many for free and almost 100% under $9.99. This is the market Sony and Nintendo need to cater too if they want to survive. Hardcore gamers such as ourselves just do not have the numbers to keep them alive. They have to draw in the casual crowd or die in place. I have an iPad and there are several very cool games on it. +
