Win98 Apm - ACPI Problem !!!

Recommended Posts

In Hopes Someone can help me!!!

My system goes on Stanby or Suspend in 15 minutes no matter

what!!!!

Im using Win98, New Motherboard FIC 503A with Via MPV3

Appollo Chipset, AMD K62 450 CPU, Nvidia GeForce MX200

Video Card, 128 Mgs PC100 SD Ram, AT Power Supply. (Its a

socked 7 Motherboard). HP8100 Burner, etc.....

Ive Upgraded the Bios to JN413 Version 1.3.....

Set the Acpioption "1" in registry and even reinstalled all

Devices in Device Mgr. Disabled everthing in bios for acpi and

tried to let Win98 Pwr Mgmt handle Suspend or Standby.

No matter what I do it still goes into Suspend or Standby in 15

minutes, even if I'm burning a long Cd on my burner.

If I set the time lower in Win98 Pwr Mgmt it will trigger Suspend,

but if I set it higher eg: Never Off, 2 hours or whatever it still

goes into suspend/standby in 15 minutes.

Could something in the Registry be overriding it, or maybe

an ini file????

I'm pretty much outta ideas and hope that someone out there

has ANY sugesstion....????

This has only happened since I put in this new Motherboard and

reformatted.

Everything else is working perfectly and would like to keep it that

way!!!

Thanks for any help anyone might have.

I seem to have found a solution - at least for now.

I went into System Info/System Configuration/Startup

I removed the checks from the 2 boxes next to "Load

Current Power Scheme". Then rebooted and things seem

to be fine.

Does anyone know why "Load Current Power Scheme"

always appears twice in the Startup Screen under Sys

Config???

If anyone has any other or better sugesstions please let me

know - and thanks for the help!!!
