Music Website Logo, feedback needed :)

Question

Hey,

So me and my mates are starting up a new website and basically we've been throwing our ideas onto the table and just sorting them out trying to get a clear picture of what we want. We decided to start on the logo first, as this is normal very important for the website.

Basically it's for a music house website dedicated to sick drops, and such. This is the logo we have come up with so far:

Watcha think?

EDIT:

4 different ideas:

I think it looks pretty decent, but try getting the edges of the text and the logo lined up, it would make it look better imo :)

Looks pretty good. Maybe you could add a bit more color, but if the site is dark the logo should be too. Also you should try to line everything up and to get it to fit well in the web design.

It's too busy and wide, but if it's just for your site that's okay I suppose.

You should adjust the kerning, but then again, this is a grungy type font where principles don't really matter as much.

I also don't like how the word Music trails off past the audio waves.

I think the white glows should fade out 1/4 from each end.

And the black wave in the background doesn't really fit in, imo.

But if you wish to keep it there, I would make it stand out so that it looks like it's part of the design rather than a forgotten audio wave.

I like number 6 as well. That random sine curve above the text looks odd and is too dark for a background like that. Perhaps if it were made so it had some of the electric current going through it as well that might look cool. I do like #6, although I feel the word "house" is almost too corroded, specifically the o and e. Other than that I like it!

Thanks alan, I like how number 6 came out, I just did it off the spur of the moment, but it seems to work. The O is meant to have a pattern of a a palm tree, which symbolizes Ibiza and other hot countrys where house music is big. Now you understand it, you may like it a bit more?

Thanks for the feedback :)

6 for sure! Is that a palm tree in the O? Related to the Miami scene? I only ask, because I can't fully identify it, and as such, is it necessary? Ir could the I merge into a palm?

5 or 6, although that's because I can't notice a difference between the two. Since so far the majority seem to be with 6, I would go with that out of the two.

number 5 has the audio wave on the top and numebr 6 doesnt.

Thanks everyone so far. You've been a huge help!

If anyone wants to see the Holding Page I quickly whipped up (I used an older design though, but intentional because when the site is released it will look even more refreshing!)

If anyone has anyother things they want to throw out there, go for it :)

6 is pretty nice! I am just not that much of a fan of that font... I am not saying you should use Helvetica but maybe try out something different or maybe manually change it so that the palms are not in every O... looks a little too repetitive..?

But apart from that, which of course is personal taste, that's a pretty solid job you've done there! =)

Sorry to say something in dissonance, but I think there is no logo at all. It's just three words with awful kerning and some electric waves. Logo must be solid as a symbol, it is not a graphical composition with some text. And typography must be taken seriously.

Look at this:
