Growled Member Posted October 30, 2010 Member Share Posted October 30, 2010 Always knew the PS3 would catch up even with the head start the X360 had. I honestly never thought they would, especially considering the rough start they got off to.
bob_c_b
The PS3 isn't catching up in the states this Christmas, have to see if overseas can carry them higher. I love my PS3 Slim but the line up for the holidays is pants if don't have have a woody for GT5, which the vast majority in the US don't. I'd also tend to belive the 5.4 million number for the sales gap considering how well the 360 has done this year, especially the last couple quarters, and the old question always rears it's head... are we talking shipped or sold? Lachlan
Its only a matter of time before the PS3 surpasses the X360. I bet it will be this Christmas. I think your wrong.. The PS move has been out for a while which was their big innovation and boosted their sales for the past few months but now it is Microsofts time to release the Kinect which will sell alot more.. Also I believe the kinect will sell more XBOX 360's as well because the packages are pretty cheap. The Move may have sold quite a few but it is just a new controller for the slim. This may be a reason for people to upgrade from their old xbox's

The PS3 is actually starting to fall behind again about 2 million. It was at about 3 million units for a spell a little under a year ago.
Crisp
Your sir is a Jack ass! "You" I guess you were looking for. Trying to flame someone with typos makes you look the "Jackass". On the other hand, didn't mean to offend your company. Hope you don't lose sleep over my opinion.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted October 30, 2010 Veteran Share Posted October 30, 2010 These figures are rubbish anyway. The only reason Xbox has sold more is because they break more often and people need to keep buying new ones. And people call me a troll  The "high moral" members are nowhere to be found when the tables are turned either. What a shock.

Vandalsquad
The small gap is interesting considering that the Xbox 360 has had over a year head start on the PS3. Its a couple more million then reported in this article. The 360 will outsell the PS3 all christmas long when kinect launches. GT5 will move some consoles but everyone waiting for it already seems to have a PS3 the console has been out for awhile.
Sethos
The small gap is interesting considering that the Xbox 360 has had over a year head start on the PS3. And what about the huge momentum and sheer brand recognition the PS1 and 2 left behind - Why do people always fail to mention that. I think it's quite poor they still haven't surpassed the 360, a product which little brother was ( almost ) nothing but a mantelpiece.
thechronic
I have never understood why people take more than a passing interest in these figures, making it their responsibility to defend a console regardless of its success just because they own one. Quite strange really. I own a PS3 but i won't deny, the inferior Xbox makes a great doorstop :p (JOKING DONT LYNCH ME!!)

It is more expensive than both the two other consoles. We can conclude that had the PS3 and Xbox 360 been price about roughly the same then the 360 would have been smoked long ago. Yeah and what if the Playstation wasn't such a recognized brand? what if the 360 had been the price point of today, when it was released? What if bacon was purple and pigs drove land rovers? Rodrigo
I don't see why this is impressive. Sony already did their "move" (lol) and they didn't catch on sales. Kinnect is coming and it will make a huge difference in sales this Christmas. Also, while GT5 may be a big release, Microsoft also has big releases planned for the end of this year and beginning of next.
