AbandonedTrolley
Didn't they state we would be seeing this late 2010? Not heard anything about it recently and it's on my Christmas list! Wouldn't mind a rough price guide etc. I'm thinking it may be closer to the ?100 given the price of the standalone FreeviewHD boxes. Would prefer it to be around the same as the first one though, think it was ?70 on launch.

I too am looking forward to this but no info kind of makes me think this isn't going to happen. What would be great if they included a proper remote and made it all much more user friendly. Trying to explain to people how to use it currently with the PS3 remote is annoying and that is because it is all setup wrong!
WelshBluebird
Standalone freeview HD boxes also have to include a hard drive, along with fairly decent hardware to decode the video. With PlayTV, all that is done by the PS3.
Jonnoy
As far as I know they only confirmed a paid software update before the end of the year... http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2010/08/20/playtv-is-set-to-get-even-better/
Japlabot
PlayTV 2???? I am still waiting for them to fix up the shortcomings of the first PlayTV. The hardware is in place, they just need more features in the firmware!!

I use the Sony remote for it which isn't too bad they do give you an overlay but it's awful lol PlayTV 2???? I am still waiting for them to fix up the shortcomings of the first PlayTV. PlayTV 2 will add the HD freeview channels so that's hardware not software.

A standalone up and down channel button would increase its usefulness by about 500%! Having no series link is lame also. Another issue I have is when I've been recording something, I can';t seem to load up that channel and rewind until its 100% done!
