flyers
OK. I set up my system to dual boot 98/XP (to play old games) with clean installs of each. That went fine, but then I decided to restore a ghost image to the 98 partition -- because it had VB6 Pro installed and I messed up the CD -- and then it only booted to 98. So, I booted from my XP CD and did a "repair" installation. Now it only boots XP. Anyone know a non-destructive way to get it back to multi-boot? mtgriffith
You should have installed 98 the way you wanted it before you installed XP.

flyers
yup. I sucked it up and formatted, restored the 98 image and installed XP. All is well (except all the WinUpdates I'll have to do again )
Big_Mark
try this go to control pannel --> System --> Then advanced Tab Then under startup and recovery click settings and in there is your system startup features. Just look in there most likely under default operating system or time to display list of operating systems.

mtgriffith
I would have to see the computer for sure but I would suspect that repairing the Windows install probably wiped out files that were needed to start Windows 98. But, the boot.ini thing would have been a great thing to try. Sorry I didn't think of it flyers1033.
Kanecorp
you could edit the boot loader to give you the option..its happened to me before and that worked....
