The State of CSS

Question

I would imagine that I'm not the only person excited about the development and implementation of CSS3 and how it will change the way in which we view the Internet, although not everybody will like using a web browser dedicated to HTML5 and CSS3. Microsoft, Opera, Firefox and other major league browsers are working to bring the internet into the next generation of the web. I've been a premium member of TUTS+ Network for quite a wile now and nettuts+ how been covering CSS3 and HTML quite a lot. I was looking through some new articles which were added yesterday and came across a rather interesting lecture hosted by Hakon Wium Lie who is very interesting and quite funny when it comes to lectures, which is great because, there is nothing more boring that being at a lacture and falling asleep because the person doing the lecture is just plain boring.

Fronteers 2010

nettuts+

This is quite a long lecture about 55 minutes but it is very interesting to view, granted not everybody is bothered about CSS3 or even HTML5 what is interesting is the impact this will have on web development. In some cases it will make life a lot easier when it comes to development. I myself have been following CSS3 and HTML5 quite a lot and have been trying to keep myself up to date with the development of CSS3.

I've been using HTML5 and CSS3 for awhile now. I obviously prefer CSS3 because I can ditch a lot of bull**** image/hacks and have more freedom. Plus, I've always liked "designing in the browser" versus opening up Photoshop.

Win!

I to have always preferred designing from within the browser but the amount of clients giving me PSD's lately means it's not always possible :(

If i had my way no longer would i touch transparent PNG's, drop shadow images, rounded box images, gradients etc etc... i'd just CSS3 the lot. Roll on the day!

If clients give you a PSD, then you're not designing the site (period.) You've got the design from the client and all you're doing is just coding it up :p

I prefer not to design (since I take far too long) but when I do it's in the browser. Otherwise my clients almost always have PSDs ready to give me.
