seethru
you have to forward ports to your local ip, I don't remember what the cs port is, maybe 27015? to be safe you should forwad a range, like 27000-27050 or something.

Mando
Hi mike first of all what type of router do you have? I also host game son my LAN (linksys router/wifi) Read the readme that came with the games you want to host games online anmd take a note of what udp and tcp ports the servers require. you then go into the setup of your router and go to advanced (you are looking for a port forwarding tab) Typew in the name of the application (UT and in the ports box put the range you got out of the readme file in there. If you dont know wether the numbers given are udp or tcp then check both boxes. In the ip field put the ipaddy of the system you want to host the games on. This allows all calls to those specific software ports to your adsl/cable modems ip (217.157.250.15) will be rerouted to your ip addy basically :p If you want more details drop me a line with the specs etc of your router and ill see what i can find out for you

John Veteran Posted August 1, 2003 Veteran Share Posted August 1, 2003 uhh, woah, 4 posts? anyway, according to mando's first link, the "port address translation" might be what you want, but i'm not sure. the readme/manual should have the default password

Mando
Find out the HTML GUI address and use your browser to connect to your router. Should be a helluvah lot easier to work with. (this will be why theyve bought over linksys huh to get the admin side which is sublime IMHO) not sure if Ciscos default password is the same but linksys is "admin"
