505
Hi all, I'm on a university network, which is really fast, so of cource I'm running Kazaa. The other day I had Kazaa open for a few hours and I received this mail: Hello, During our regular network scans, we discovered that the computer with the name NETWORKNAME is using Kazaa or a similar program to transfer possible illegal files. This computer is registered under your name. About 287 public shareable files where found. Please check your computer for these programs and/or downloaded files, and remove them. To have pirated software and/or copyrighted music (e.g. MP3) files on computers owned by the university is not legal. If you think that these files are really required for your work and they're not copyrighted, please contact 'email@university.net', so we will exclude them from future scans. Now, I don't like this spying on me by my university, so is there any way I can block their scans? Does anyone know how they are scanning anyway. How do they know I have 287 shared files, are they running Kazaa themselfs? - Daniel
