ratso
I have had XP installed on my machine for two days, and this morning I tried to dial up to my ISP and after verifying username and password it hangs up. It was working prior to this and I connected to the internet fine. I tried my backup ISP but the same thing happened, has anyone else experienced this? Or has anyone any ideas? brukro
The first thing I would do is reinstall my modem. Sounds like the program is dialing but the modem isn't going out. I had similar problems when I installed xp.:)

velocity3k
XP hates WinModems, i had to go out and buy a new modem because my old one wouldn't run on XP!.
brukro
I have found that if you are having a problem with hardware, reinstall drivers. if the driver you have is not working, use NT drivers. So far, they have worked for me. My modem wouldn't work and i installed NTdriver for it and modem has worked ever since.
