Gingerbread keyboard out for 2.2 Rooted devices

Recommended Posts

I think so, just installed on my MyTouch 4G rooted running Ice Glacier RON w/sense, and it's FC'n, can't wait for a Cyanogen based ROM

Apparently there are some files missing that the keyboard requires, it must rely on parts of the Gingerbread framework. As soon as the code drops into AOSP, Cyanogen will look over it, will be interesting to see how quickly it gets ported to the Desire, if it offers enough enhancement I'd have to try it :D

I'm using the keyboard on my Nexus One with CM 6.1 running and it runs fine. 1 bug so far but i'm guessing that's cuz it's a hacked in version rather than how it is normally :D

I hate the Gingerbread keyboard. It feels a bit slower on my Hero than the regular AOSP keyboard, and the text prediction isn't as predictable (I'm just supposed to assume that pressing space will pick the second word in the list??)

I have since switched to Swift Key and I find myself typing faster than people with Swype.
