Ebay success

Recommended Posts

Well just to keep you guys updated, as I know so many of you guys were wondering if my items on ebay sold :p

Well the ps2 was bought for $219 - $6 for a paypal fee :pinch: but it was worth it, got in $13 more than I thought it would.

Sadly the GC didn't fair as well and thanks for some advice from Spyder that I started this new listing with it at a .01 to get things rolling and to pick up some bids.

Well I am crossing my fingers on this one, I even dropped reserve down to 260 instead of $300, just so that I can have someone take this off my hands. :shifty:

[edit] I'm probably going to add some real pics on it soon, I just need to pick up a throw away camera

Nah it was a good system, to be honest I never played my ps2 just the GC, the ps2 just collected dust and I was surprised it went for $213 lol

The games I got for it are pretty good, metroid prime is awesome and timesplitters 2 was almost as good as Goldeneye, and had a better single player (i supposed mp) with the co-op. RE and RE:Zero (rented 0) are both great and look amazing, and of course sports titles, I don't know what other games you would need :p

Err...I typed too much there, in short, its good, the games are good, just need to buy the right ones ;) *cough*like in my auction*cough*

it seems as though theres a bot automatically outbidding all bids, cause for the past 12 hours it's outbid me right after I've placed a bid.....like right after bidding I get back to the page and it says I've been outbid.......messed up.

yeah, blame ebay for that, a user can place a bid and then put up a higher bid so that ebay will "auto-bid" for them. you would have to go higher than what that guy listed for "auto-bid"

Oh and I hope you win out on this, it would be cool to have a neowinian to buy my gc, instead of someone else I don't know, well...it's not like I know you or anything but we do atleast post at the same forums :p

yeah its called proxy bidding. what the person 1 (p1) did is put in a maximum bid of say.. $150. ebay bids the next highest bid for him at say $40. person 2 (p2) comes along and places a max bid of $100. lets say the bid increment is $5 ...ebay's proxy bidding would then bid $45 for p2, 50 for p1, 55 for p2, etc. and keep going like this until it hit p2's max bid of $100. at this point ebay would automatically bid for p1 at $105.

all this happens extremely quickly though. hope that made sense.

Even I don't know this guy's high bid, so yeah it's basically a guessing game, not sure how other way you could out-bid without going up a bid each time to try and get the max.

Very dumb idea, kinda eliminates the fun of bidding, eh? You could always do buy it now, :woot: , but I am guessing that is not an option ;)

thats dumb as hell, so essentially I have to find out how high this person has their bid set to?

well no, its not dumb really. this way you can put in the maximum amount you're willing to pay for an item without having to pay your maximum unless another person drives the bid amount up. you also dont need to keep visiting the page to ensure you're still the winning bidder then.

clearly this other person is willing to pay a higher max value than you are.

And clearly I am biased, so any advice from me is obviously me trying to sell my gamecube lol, all I can say is bid, bid, and when your in doubt bid again

hey mate..if you're interested, why not just ask myie what his reserve is and make an arrangement with him thru email for a price and he can cancel the auction

That would be the best way to go about it, but people would like to get lowest possible price which is understandable and I would like to get the highest possible price. I want to wait until the auction runs out to see where the price stands at the end, if it ends a little below the "reserve price" I still may sell it off, but I am hoping to go over that price if at all possible.

There are still 5 days left in that auction. Real bidding won't really start till the same day. Well, that's how it's been in my case anyway. I have to do about 3 or 4 auctions this month. Trying to get rid of my vinyl (club music).
