Background images change colors

Question

http://firefox.thechillroom.com

Hey guys I noticed that for some reason some of my background images aren't the same colors in all browsers.

In FireFox and Safari the images are incorrect.

In Opera and IE9 the images are correct.

I have not always had this problem. I think i noticed it when I got my new monitor but I can't be SURE. The website is still wrong on my original monitor (now my 2nd, in my dual setup).

Did I possibly do color profiles incorrectly?

But what if I want to use pngs?

The ONLY thing that renders differently with PNG and other "browsers" (see: IE >7) is its transparency. Otherwise transparent PNG renders just fine in Firefox, Safari/Chrome and Opera.

Stick with using PNGs, NOT jpg.

IIRC, it's to do with colour profiles being saved with the image. If you're using photoshop, use "Save for the web" rather than regular save. A quick google comes up with a few more details about the problem.

Edit: Handy link

Save for web worked! Genius! Thanks so much dude!
