bangbang023 Veteran Posted August 3, 2003 Veteran Share Posted August 3, 2003 (edited) I just got cable access last week and have a router setup splitting the connection between 3 PC's and my PS2. Anyways, in the router config, there is the following value DHCP Remaining Time: 2 days 0:57:45 what does that mean exactly? Joseph Zollo
When your compuer contacts your DHCP server, it obtains a lease, which lasts a certain amount of time, when that time is up, your computer will obtain another lease by renewing the IP information. Your router should let you change that amount of time if you wish.

I8PP
Lease time is set by the ISP. Mine used to be 6 days, now its 4; no matter though, the router gets a new lease every day it gets turned on because i turn everything off for the night.
