Faction
Hey, ive been using it like a day and 75% of the time instead of somthing normal its just a big X as the icon in the system tray. X is like universal for "not working" and stuff like that.. so could someone please tell me what this means. Thanks alot-
Mysterio
A service called "TrueVector" for ZAP is not loading properly on your pc....Do you have ZAP starting for the StartUp folder, or do you start it manually?.....Either way, right-click on this "X" icon and shutdown ZAP, and then execute it manually to see if it loads properly....is the first step.... Ciao....

Mysterio
Its the name for the service...you know a programmer decided just to CALL it that, what can I say...lol.....that allows ZAP to do what its supposed to do....which is act as a firewall, putting it in a simplistic manner....:o) Nope there's nothing WRONG in doing that, per se...just keep one thing in mind....you'll have to start ZAP manually once you've successfully logged into your desktop....and since, I assume, you loaded ZAP to protect yourself while connected to the 'net....make sure you start ZAP BEFORE you fire up your apps that you know access the 'net. I'm assuming a lot of things here...but the basics are laid out up above. Ciao.......
grimman
truevector is what controls internet access (or something) :/ not much of a firewall without it imo.
sunnyy4
Is the "X" you're talking about enclosed inside a lock? If so, your internet connection has been secured. Go into the ZoneAlarm Window, and press the lock icon to get rid of it
Faction
Alright i just reinstalled, i found out prob. When i restarted yesterday, i skipped something at startup, which said somthing about true vector. which im guessing i was suppose to click ok. And im betting that for some reason XP auto matically skips it. Hmm..
