PrinceAli0
Ever since the news of that big hole in XP I get random crashes of Explorer.exe but its spelled ExploRer.exe, just wondering if this is some virus or worm in my machine. Has any of you seen this before. Scanned with a virus scan but found nothing. Is there a way to restore explorer.exe from the CD. Thanks PrinceAli0

grimman
ooor, kill the explorer service and then go to the cd-rom then do "expand explorer.ex_ c:winntexplorer.exe" without the quotes. if you haven't turned the file-protection off you need to do "expand explorer.ex_ c:winntsystem32dllcacheexplorer.exe" first. it might work. damn well worth a try at least ;)
velocity3k
Did you try and modify explorer.exe in any way?. When i tried to remove the "start" writing on the start button i had the same error as you i wiped and re-installed XP.

Miran
Funny enough, I've been getting random iexplore.exe crashes since that loop. For some reason though, I ONLY get them when I'm on themexp.org. Crashes after about 10 seconds EVERY time on themexp.. So I use opera and no problems.. Pretty weird if you ask me. Craig
