Sometimes there is option to disable board contents to unregistered users. So forum contents are not appearing due to reason that I am unregistered. Regarding php logo you have to edit that logo in directory of images (i think).

Its pretty ironic if you ask me.. You have a forum for computer services company, and they can not figure out how to use a canned point and click forum software that is used by 100's of thousands of novice users in like 10 minutes ;) hehehe

Maybe you should hire a company to setup your forum for you ;) hehehehe

As stated, if you want to have your forums and posts public, then you have to set them that way..

As to the logo -- have you bothered to even breeze over the documentation/FAQ/Wiki of the forum software you decided on using??

Wow thanks for all the useful information ... I couldnt ask for better replies...just because i dont know how to program doesn't mean that i dont know how to build and modify a computer which i do ....from now on i will NOT ask for help on this forum because i can see that people here dont do anything but make fun of people for asking questions .... IS THAT NOT WHAT THIS FOURM IS FOR ....

OH and to hougtimo good luck being a follower in life .following people in life gets you no where but on step behind the person in front of you .....but.....i guess you are happy with that so GOOD LUCK

Wow, jeez I'll apologize for +BudMan, hougtimo and COKid (edit: and carmatic) replying like that. Not everyone on Neowin is condescending like that.

For phpBB, you'll have to look at your forum settings. You have your forum set to only show your forum for logged in/registered users. I made a test account (neowin-test) and was able to see once I was logged in. Which, by the way, you can remove that account since I only did it to see if the forum would display :).

I haven't used phpBB in a long time, so I can't give you the exact breadcrumb to find it but just look under all settings to see where you enabled it for registered users only.

Just an FYI, one way to replace the logo is to make a new one and replace the current one. Here is the current path to the logo.

http://www.dndcomputerservices.info/styles/prosilver/imageset/site_logo.gif

Now of course, if you put in an image to replace that one, you would want it to be the same exact size, etc., if not it will stretch out and not look good. And it would be highly suggested if you replace it, to just keep a backup copy of the original one, which is as easy as just putting a __ in the front of the file name.

That is just way of many ways to can get rid of it and change it to whatever logo you may want. Of course there is editing the current template, which would be the best way as then you can change the size, alignment, etc., but the way I suggested is the very down and dirty do not need any altering at all of the template file itself.

Just assuming you do not have a site logo, so I whipped this up super, super quick. Ideally would prefer to use a png for better transparency, etc., but keeping it a gif means you can literally just overwrite it and not touch anything. Just have to FTP this gif into the directory that the current logo is in. Again, back up that old logo just in case this looks like crap in it's place, etc.

Glad to see our upstanding MVCs are once again promoting a healthy community.

I too question a computer tech asking about forum software when it should seem fairly simple, but at the same time, bit hash wasn't it guys? ;)

it is just the personality. I poke at it sometimes, it is fun. I will say this, ask a direct question and you will get a direct answer.

NM I see. Short of reading the manual and doing it for you, I would suggest reading the manual or possibly using search. Maybe "title" or "banner" or "logo" would be good search terms. Possibly, "public" would also be a good search term.

IDK, maybe, this is what I found doing a search for "logo" http://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/changing-your-board-logo/

a search for "public" got me here: http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=71&t=30987
