I Need a Script/Screenplay

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody I was wondering if I could get some help. I searched for a very long time on Google and movie script sites, but I can't find it. I just need the script/screenplay (is there a difference?) to The Life of David Gale. I've seen so many other movie scripts and screenplays on the net that I was sure I'd be able to find it, but I can't. So if anybody can help me with this it would be much appreciated. BTW, don't ask what it's for because my friend asked me if I could find it and she didn't tell me why ;)

Worst case, contact the studio or the first-time writer Charles Randolph (though you'll need to explain why you're interested), or follow-up on screenwriter-specific places like www.nyscreenwriter.com. Some things just take time to turn up (though marked popularity doesn't hurt).

Screenplay and script are essentially the same thing as far as I can tell, at least in current usage in the movie industry. If you *really* care, you can look into all sorts of discussions of the differences at movie-related sites.

"Screenplay" tends to refer to the entire work done for a full-length feature film. *Some* would say it tends not to include specific directions for all movements, etc. in the detail used for production, and becomes a "script" once it starts getting detailed for actual production. (Most often used in the sense of things like "Will you read my screenplay?".)

"Script" can refer to any medium (even plays, radio, etc.), though is most often used when referring to a specific portion in a practical setting (e.g., "Read the script." "Just do what the script says.").

Anyway, there's little consistency these days when it comes to full-length film. I'd personally say you're looking for the screenplay.
