i read about this in Wired. Its a new kind of spam which alerts the "big brother" censers in the US and Sweden by using keywords that alert the censer and hopefully flood the censers with so much e-mail that they give up on monitoring our e-mails

That makes no sense to me; I mean how does that work?

This made me laugh out loud, its a bloody good idea from the spam companies, rendering our antispam software effectively harmful.

I Know it wont work on some systems, where a word list is manually maintaned, but systems like spamassassin may well fall over when faced with this.

This is a very interesting development!

/me runs off feeling like geek for getting excited.

just an update.

I run a webpage, and on that web page there is a mailing list. Well i am now receiving emails sent *to* the mailing list that are spam.

So basically I guess the spammers hit my page and grabbed all the info they needed and now I am hit with all these freaking emails.

Time to delete the mailing list.
