Boffa Jones Veteran Posted August 6, 2003 Veteran Share Posted August 6, 2003 I know its been on penny arcade and gamespot, but i havn't seen it here... If you are in stealth when you rescue the rest of your parrty on sauls ship you are in for a nice big surprise at the end of the mission. TE game will more or less freeze, it will jsut stop like the music still plays and the last person talling will be doign their little facial animation but nothing else. Apparantly it may start workign again hours later but im not sure yet as i am still waiting. but if yo do not have a save file from before you saved your friends and you had stealth as you saved htem you are screwed. Unless someone knows somehting i dont..... Please?lol
Malechai Veteran Posted August 6, 2003 Veteran Share Posted August 6, 2003 hmm... i wonder if a patch will be released via live to correct that. thx for teh note
Evil Dragon
Good job - you got the Carth glitch. :D There is an awareness check every 20 seconds against Mission's stealth (I'm assuming it was her). If your awareness is high enough, at some point it will reveal her and the conversation will continue. Just hope someone has awareness high enough. If you have anything that you can equip that will raise awareness, put it all on one person before you get on the Ebon Hawk.
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted August 7, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted August 7, 2003 this morning i went back and checked it out my x-box turned itself off, i saved it earlier before anything happened so i lost a little over an hour but i sped through it the second time, oh well im not as distressed as before lol, i was worrying that i woudl have saved over my save file and i would be more or less ****** because my stealh is low as a bitch. awesome game though. quite buggy but awesome. .....
Quite buggy but awesome. Well, that's what happens when PC devs make console games :(
macrosslover
lol i guess i should just count myself lucky i only experienced 1 bug the whole game and that was the second time through. that bug was only a minor mission's brother bug. but with that carth bug there never was a chance for me to get it because i just went in with all guns blazing instead of using stealth :) i think they did a pretty good job with the game and i've played it dark side and light side so i'd say i've gotten most of the game. Evil Dragon
Has anyone gotten the galaxy droid bug? That one sounds interesting.. I have indeed. Very interesting, it was. I went back to Taris, the game started over basically. Unfortunatley, I can't actually get off Taris, because Canderous doesn't show up.
macrosslover
i don't understand the galaxy bug. people say they have been transported but i wasn't. i forgot how i happened i just saw the galaxy droid and was also able to tallk to the droid that handles the swoop bike. i could actually go to the swoop bike, the "bug" seems to make the shipper bigger in terms of where you can go. but when i clicked the galaxy droid and clicked some place like taris for example it just said isn't space travel fun and didn't send me anywhere. Did you try walking out of your ship? It does transport you, it just doesn't show the whole animation thing, and it seems like nothing happened, but when you exit your ship it is where it's supposed to be. You can't go to the Endar Spire, though. ;)
Evil Dragon
Oh, by the way - there is a method that has been supposedly proven to work 4/5 times to get the galaxy droid. This must be done after the Leviathan. What you do is take the trip from Manaan to Tatooine, and during the animation things press start and back alternating, while repetedly pressing Y. Supposedly this clogs up the game enough to make it search for the missing information, then BAM! Galaxy droid. Haven't tried it, though.
macrosslover
yeah that's when i got it, leaving the leviathan heading for tatooine. but i did leave the ship and nothing happened. well it's hard to explain but i clicked taris and nothing happened and i left the ship and if i remember correctly i was on tatooine because that was the planet i was heading for. i might have clicked to go to tatooine i don't remember, but i didn't know they don't give you the animation. Malechai Veteran Posted August 7, 2003 Veteran Share Posted August 7, 2003 ok i have to stop reading this thread because y'all are starting to make me think I wasted my money on a buggy game :( but its fun so far dammit
Evil Dragon
ok i have to stop reading this thread because y'all are starting to make me think I wasted my money on a buggy game :( but its fun so far dammit Nah, the only real bug is the Carth glitch, and most people don't even get that. The Galaxy Droid is more of a huge mistake that some programmer made, and has turned into an easter egg.
o_87
I had the same problem, almost gave up on the game. Then I went on to Bioware's forum, searched and found the solution. I just had to equip a 'Demolitions Sensor' which made my stealth points go up by 8 points. ok i have to stop reading this thread because y'all are starting to make me think I wasted my money on a buggy game but its fun so far dammit To be quite honest it is a buggy game...unfortunately. I have read about 2 or 3 glitches that will stop your entire progress in the game, like the Mission Vao stealth bug. People like us who know ways to get around these glitches will be fine, but for the mainsteam consumer, I am not so sure. That being said, the game is excellent. I have never liked Star Wars, I have not even watched the original trilogy. Just Episode 4 and that too when I was 6 or 7, so I've forgotten most of it. Second, I do not like RPGs at all. The only RPG I've ever liked was Diable II (until KOTOR of course!), I remember buying Morrowind and being very excited, and returning it the next day :(. However, this game sucked me in from the beginning, and I've played this game once as a Daek Jedi, and then as a Ligh Jedi. Right now I am playing it for the third time, now as a female character. The dialogue is actually different from being a male character, so I recommend playing atleast once as a female. The first time it took me 31 hours to finish the game(I only did a few side quests), and the second time it took me 46 hours (with all the sidequests). So in all I've played this game for 77 hours! Considering I bought this game for $65(Canadian), thats great value. I'm around 3 hours into playing this game for the third time. After playing this game, I'm really excited abuot Baldur's Gate II. :D Edited August 7, 2003 by o_87

Evil Dragon
I agree, people without LIVE are pretty much screwed. OXM is supposedly starting to add downloadable content to their DVDs starting decemeber. This will include any Kotor patched there may be, so people without live will do fine, they just have to buy a magazine, and they can read the articles anyways.
