Here's a comment clearly from someone who has no clue what he's talking about.  When's the last time you've played a sports game - 1996?  The days of SNES and Genesis are over, my friend.  Sports games are now very difficult, and you need smarts to win.  Buy a real football game like ESPN NFL Football or Madden 2004, or a real baseball game like World Series Baseball 2k3, play on the hardest difficulty, and you'll see that the only way you can win is if you think hard and choose the best possible plays throughout the game.

Games adapting to your playing style, although not available yet (at least none I'm aware of), can be implemented and will be available in the next coming years...maybe as soon as next year.  Considering what companies have accomplished already, making a game adapt to your playing style seems almost like a childish task.

Try this.  Buy ESPN NFL Football (September 1st is the release date) for Xbox.  Buy Xbox Live.  Get online and play with someone, with your headset on, and tell me it's not the coolest experience ever.  I can clearly remember the third time ever playing NFL2k3 online...I was down by 4 points with 5 seconds left on the clock on my own 20 yard line.  Only a hail mary would let me win this game.  Jeff Garcia dropped back and hurled a pass downfield, right into the hands of Terrell Owens for the win.  I was screaming crazily into the microphone, while the guy on the other end whined and cried, begging for mercy.  It was one of the best video game experiences of my life.  Let's see you capture that much emotion with an RPG.

why would you ask for opinions then flame me because mine differs from your own? very childish....... played NFL fever 2k3 game takes no skill what so ever and no, I'm not gonna go out and waste 50 bucks on a game I won't ever play. I'm not sports nut I don't even watch it on tv in fact if sports come on tv I typically get up and go outside or go over to a friends house. The only time or way I will watch sports is if I go to the game IN PERSON REAL LIFE. (or if its the X-Games or something) There was no reason to flame me or try and push sports games on me, after all... I don't try to push a life and fresh air on you!

He didn't flame you. To those of us who actually enjoy sports games and play them quite a bit, it's quite obvious you don't know what you are talking about. Sports games have skill levels. The easy level is just that....easy. Of course if you play on the lowest level it won't be any fun. And like you said, he's asking for opinions on it, not trying to "push sports" on people.

love sports games..for the longest time i was a huge fan of EA sports 'nba live' series..until they came out with nba live 2003...what a travesty..to me at least..you see, when i play sports games, i want realism and authenticity (it is supposed to be 'in the game' right)..now back in 'live 95' i can understand the incredible dunks, the scoring runs, the fade-away threes, to make up for the graphics..but these days when you can do wonders with graphics in sports games, the closer you can get to realism..but they went backwards, the computer generated runs are outrageous, the turn-around-fade-away-in-your-face threes are ludicrous...ya, its more 'fun', and they're catering to the bigger 'casual gaming' market..but they lose they're big fan base...oh well, thank god sega sport nba 2k3 stuck with their gameplan (and i despised 2k3 back in the day..hehe)..now i can't wait till espn basketball (nba 2k4)..

although, EA does make the best football games..madden is in a league of its own, and i think it just gets better every year..2004 is sweet and the AI has really stepped up

although sports games have great replay value, there's only so much you can do with game AI..and when you pretty much figure out the game AI in certain sports games (basketball)..you really have no competition..so sports games are played best with another person..not the computer..

hockey is about the only sport game i can stand.

Same here.. Only sports games i've played in 10 years.. I haven't give other sports games a chance, probably due the 10 other games i have waiting to be tried out first.. Lets just say I'm not a big sports game fan..

Don't think you're crazy either...
