i will say you will never getting anything good for free... there will either be a catch which you will regret down the line.... or it will be mediocre... i recommend paying or your web hosting service in which case you then atleast get some customer support :] if my website was finished i would give you a link to my companys hosting service, but it is not yet looking pretty (all works just not pretty enough yet :p ) ... so just shop around for a bit, but i would never use a free host again for as long as i live your limited greatly.

I've had pretty poor luck with free hosting services. They usually have a limited amount of uptime, they flood your page with advertisements, and you're heavily restricted in terms of number of files/types of files/etc.

If possible, I'd recommend you pay for hosting. You can get some pretty good hosting server for only a couple bucks a month. Then just put a banner ad on your page to recoup the revenue. It's simple and you'll be much happier.

Free website hosting handcuffs your ability to drive traffic to your website.

Devhub

 http://www.devhub.com

is a free website builder where you get free web hosting. The service offers unlimited free subdomains and also you can use your existing top levels domains for free. The website builder is truly cutting edge, offers drag and drop features with tons of modules. The sweet part of devhub is that these modules can help you make money, and you can add, remove, edit, move around modules in a matter of seconds. However, you get to share the revenue made from these modules with devhub. This is a great option for many people who lack technical expertise to build websites and also do not wish to pay for web hosting. The number of theme options is quite limited relative to blogger and WordPress. Just like blogger, you can customize themes with your own CSS.

if you want it free, you could try 000webhost, but I really don't recommend it.

if you want reliable hosting, try looking @ LowEndBox for (unmanaged) vps, but only if you are good at ubuntu.

otherwise, look around. most sites should allow you to have your own custom domain.
