spikey_richie
We bought a new receiver in the summer and it doesn't have HDMI pass-through, so if we want to watch Sky we HAVE to have the full surround sound system on. Is there a way I can switch the signal from the Sky box, and save have setting 1 go to the receiver for surround sound and setting 2 go straight to the TV? fredflintstone
why not use an optical or digital coax cable from your 'sky box' to your avr? then you can get 5.1 audio
Berserk87
why not use an optical or digital coax cable from your 'sky box' to your avr? then you can get 5.1 audio this. There are other ways of doing it, but optical or digital cable are going to be the only way to get 5.1. You SHOULD have those inputs, unless you bought a cheap all-in-one package. spikey_richie
Ah didn't think about those options, nice one. The receiver is a Sony STR-DN1000 so has all of those input types.
