Website Feedback..

Question

It's true what they say you are your own worst client. I managed to come up with a website i liked but after looking at it for so long i'm just not sure again.

I would love some feedback:

http://www.upliftcreative.net

fyi, on the portfolio page only the 'sonia strong' entry is complete.

I'm particularly interested to know how it looks in other browsers as i've relied quite heavily on css rounded corners, shadows, etc.

I'm also interested to know how the blog looks to you? I wanted to style the blog more personal to me, so i registered a separate domain for the blog, but then maybe i should keep it on the main website domain so i can get more hits?

Thanks to anyone who looks.

Your header background needs a min width, when you resize the browser to a smaller size it doesnt go all the way across.

Often see this problem when people just set it to 100% which is of the window and not the page.

I also design logos, flyers and posters

I feel like that really takes away from what you just said before it. I'd try to reword it and take away the bold.

Really nice design. I love the simplicity and LOVE the header bar, how it stays the same but changes colours.

Checked in IE8, Firefox 3.6, and Safari 5.2

Looks fantastic. Couple of things nagging at me...

Flickering between Home and Services/Portfolio/Contact. It seems like Home is out of alignment slightly. Same goes for Blog.

Blog is also missing a line under the main header to give it a consistent look across the site.

On home you have the tagline "With prices from only £20 per month, it's no wonder people are turning to me for their total internet website solution... I also design logos, flyers and posters. Be sure to let me know about your next project."

Get rid of the bold, and make it all one size.

Reword "I also design logos, flyers and posters." It doesn't feel right.

Also "I am a freelance web developer and designer with a passion for creating great looking, easy to use websites." should be "I am a freelance web developer and designer with a passion for creating great looking AND easy to use websites."

Edit* And, I would make the West View Primary School your featured project.

It's not out of alignment. Scrollbar is present on some pages, not all.

-snip-

Also "I am a freelance web developer and designer with a passion for creating great looking, easy to use websites." should be "I am a freelance web developer and designer with a passion for creating great looking AND easy to use websites."

Also, in the name of correctness, it might be better to add hyphens. "easy-to-use"

I don't really like the fact that on Sonia page, when you move over the image it goes lighter.

Coming to think of it, why does it even change at all?

But everything else looks good!

I don't get any scrollbars (only one vertical one). It's definitely out of alignment for me.

*facepalm*

Look at your own screenschot. See that scrollbar? It will push content to the left when it's present. If it's not there, it won't push content over.
