i doubled my dsl speed

Recommended Posts

Hmmm, I was expecting some cool speed tweak being mentioned here, damb.

My ADSL speed is already 1.5 Mbps down and 512 Kbps up, and that's just the basic package, there's a way higher that costs a little bit more than what I pay for what I have, which I may switch to cuz I think what I have kinda sucks. I was expecting it to be fast.

I pay around 25 bucks Canadian for what I have, which I'm nopt sure is good compared to other ISP's but it's way lower than what I've paid for crappy dial-up over the years, so I'm happy about the price anyways.

Oh, I guess I pay 29.95. Something like that. I'm on some special service plan that includes the phone line, adsl, long distance, all the features, etc. etc. for one monthly price, which is fairly cheap.

Can someone please tell me How much 768/768 is in actually download terms? how fast would i download/upload if i had a perfect connection to that particual isp?

I would assume that means 768 Kbps download and 768 Kbps upload.

Quite slow for downloading, but high upload speed compared to some.

Well you didn't state whether it was Mbps or Kbps, but going by the number, it usually goes "download/upload" and I doubt it's 768 Mbps, so if it is 768 Kbps, thats a lot lower than 1.5 Mbps, which isn't very fast.

Those speeds are actual line speeds from the ISP, they don't mean that you'll achieve those speeds.

Ask SBC to come out and check your lines or complain to them that you are hearing other peoples conversations. Works everytime.

Thank You
