Watch asian horror movies, I think they are scarier than many hollywood horrors(Blair Witch 2 was good though). Check out some movies like: Three, The Eye, The Ring(all the versions), etc, there are tons more, I just can't recall the names, they are quite old.

'The Fog' (horror) - hehe, everyone just has to see that once in their life - classic. Oh yeh and 'The Burbs' (comical horror), so good that was. :D

More seriously I guess some things like 'The Shining' - (thats was said to be the best horror film ever made), you could see the story line actually happening somewhere in real life, so I guess thats why. (Although I don't think you can really call any one film the best of its genre - they all have different qualities).

The various 'Hellraiser' films - there are many mixed reactions about these, i'm not personally keen on them, but you might like them.

And there is a recent one which my friend said was really good - erm I can't quite remember the name 'Red' something I think (not Red Dragon). I'll find out for you and i'll post it here sometime tomorrow, and a few more that i'll try and think of. :)

BTW - if anyone recommend's the 'Exorcist', I wouldn't bother with it. :p

Lets see, Donnie Darko is a good movie, it is more realistic horror/drama, and a mind f*ck at the same time...

Uh, 28 days later is a good horror flick.

I'll agree with GUISkins, Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 are good horror flicksa, but they are also extremely funny movies (Hail to the king baby!)

As for the worst horror movies ever, look for movies made by Full Moon Pictures. I can think of Killjoy, that movie will f*ck your mind up, but it is poorly made, as are all movies from Full Moon Pictures....

Hope I helped....

Evil Dead + Evil Dead 2! Both films made me need to change my pants an hour into them.

Didn't scare me (except the jumpy parts) but they were fu*king great films (Y)

Hi again - that other film that I forgot the name was '28 days later' as also recommended by pimpshiznid. I don't know where I got 'red' being in its name somewhere - lol :p. I guess it might be because one guy has red eyes in the film - or maybe because i'm just mad.

Also another film that I can't believe I forgot was 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' - that is a brilliant film, and when you consider when it was made it makes it even better - definatly worth a look, no matter what anyone says. (Y)

(Apparently there was meant to be a remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre coming out this year, but I don't know where it has got too - but who really cares, its bound not to be anywhere near as good as the original anyway.)

BTW - if anyone recommend's the 'Exorcist', I wouldn't bother with it. :p

I saw it 2 days ago, the only thing that makes it scary are the pictures of the "devil" that you see 0,1 secs or something (but it IS very scary) :ninja: :alien: :boo:

Yeh I guess if we all had the same tastes everyone here would have recommended the same horror film!

I didn't find a bed jumping around a room very authentic, and so not scary but there you go - our different tastes.

BlackCloud may have very similar taste's to you and may thourghly enjoy 'The Exorcist' as did you. As I said earlier in another post there is no harm in taking a look at films that have mixed reactions towards them.

Also thanks CatnipOligarthy for the information about the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - I was sure that the information I read said '2003'.

Speak soon guys

Terminator.

The only suggestion so far that I might actually watch, aside from the ones i've already seen, is The Exorcist. All the other suggestions I have already seen, or don't plan on seeing. Thanks though.
