iWeb + Photoblog

Question

Hi everyone,

I'm completely redoing my personal website, and although I don't actually blog, I figure that a place whereby I can put my photography and comment on it every now and again could be useful.

So I've been using iWeb because I paid (again) for MobileMe and it's relatively simple.

But what I'm wondering / annoyed about is that when using the "blog" template (albeit changing all the templates to my own) the primary interest of the interface is TEXT. I want it to be PHOTOS.

For anyone familiar with iWeb, when using the "blog" template you then are given the landing page of the blog which pulls in your most recent posts via RSS, and then you're given your "entries" page and your "archives" page.

iWeb is convenient in that it links those pages in terms of what shows up on your Archives page is generated automatically, and photos/information is pulled onto your landing page from the individual entries.

I know I'm trying to make this complicated, but how do I retain those functions, but apply my own themes so that my "entries" pages can be primarily collages of photos with minimal text, and in turn have my "landing page" an even bigger collage of those photos.

One workaround which I'm exploring would be to create a "Photos Page" (delete everything from it minus the photos section and apply my own theme) and then use the RSS feed on my other pages to simply pull in the RSS feed from the photos page. But that wouldn't solve the "automated" blogging interface that I kind of like. (i.e. wouldn't create my archives for me and wouldn't allow for tags (I don't think?))

If you'd like to check out my website and what I have so far then PM me.

Cheers,

Medking
