Looking for new punk/ska music to listen to

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if any of you punks out there wanna share some good bands to get into. I'm looking for more heavy punk, or reggae/ska.

At the moment i'm pretty into Thrice, Raised Fist, RX Bandits, Boysetsfire, and Strung Out.

Since it looks like you don't fully listen to hardcore, yet, i'd recommend stuff like Thursday, Atreyu, Killswitch Engage, and Unearth (the bands get harder as the list goes on) who you probably have heard of before.

Less Than Jake

Reel Big Fish

Goldfinger

The Suicide Machines

Rancid

Dance Hall Crashers

Distorted Penguins (great punk ska band that?s as good as any I have heard, very fun live)

i like mostly the mainstream stuff or what got me started back in 1994-98

Refused are an awesome band pity they split, Rise Against, had them for awhile now, Suicide Machines, had them too.

Username: you post made me smile, i've seen Goldfinger live, and RBF too, just waitin for Ltj to tour aust again. Rancid, thats fair old school, Dance Hall Crashes, not too bad. Def gonna give those Distored Penguins a listen, need some more good ska on here ;)

TRUSTcompany. Those guys are awesome. :punk:

Trust Company isn't punk or ska.

I'd very heavily recommend Story of the Year, Finch, Avenged Sevenfold and Stutterfly for some harder punk/emo/rock type music. And a few awesome straight up punk bands are Bigwig, Anti-Flag, and Autopilot Off.

Refused is good-times.

But I listen to mostly Norma Jean / Kid Dynamite / Strike Anywhere.

They are more from the hard-core aspect of music but, eh.....punk is punk.

Dropkick Murphys, Rancid (new CD is coming out) ... plus everyone else that was mentioned. Less Than Jake and the Suicide Machines are awesome.

Also, the Pietasters and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones (at least their old stuff).

Now that I think about, they aren't. :/ They are still one of my favorite bands, but what would you categorize them as?
