Which program do you use for coding?

Question

I was thinking about trying to switch out Dreamweaver with something else that is a lot more coding related. Even though in CS5 there are a lot of features in DW it still doesn't feel like a piece of software to code in.

So I was thinking I would get some suggestions here. I've seen some programs that actually have the black background with colored codes - how well is that for the eyes for longer coding runs?

I'm primarily doing PHP, HTML & CSS.

I use dreamsweaver CS5 for coding along with notepad. Main reason is that you can visually see changes while editing/creating code. I've never heard of Coda. Does it offer the same?

You might want to research a little more into Coda. You can actually create clips and text inserts! :)

I know it might not be fun having to add it all but hey, better than nothing.

http://coda-clips.com/ <-- best one really :)

Look at my post at the begining of this thread hun ;) I know all about clips..

It's not what I'm referring to though.. Why would I want to go through the hassle of adding a clip when in dw I can highlight a block of text and press cmd shift.. All on the same page right the and there..

I think coda still has some way to come yet..

The VBA editor is one hell of an outdated mess. Though I both like and dislike how it warn you whenever there is something wrong with the line you just entered.

Yeah I completely agree. I've had a lot of issues where I hit the limitations of VBA.
