Metroid Prime 2 Details

tell me how hard would it be for them to have a SIMPLE mutlplayer deathmatch with samus, some of the more humanoid aliens, and whatever other skins they would choose.  make hell just 6 damn maps or there you go you got you some deathmatch to add some replay value to the game.

now tell me how does adding a SIMPLE multiplayer at the least detract from the single player game?? if you don't want to play the multiplayer you wouldn't have to. but some of us never pickup a single player game again once we beat it and need a little more to add some replay value to it.

turok 2 had multiplayer.  halo is multiplayer. so what if Metroid is a action/adventure rpg type game.  why should what the single player game is effect a possible multiplayer mode?? will Samus say no i'm sorry i  can't play this multiplayer DM i'm a rpg character, you want my husband Master Chief?? no she's going to blast some stuff to hell.

and what is that reason? the programmers were lazy?? granted it would have add more development time and i'll slightly give them that, but it doesn't take much for them to add a simple DM, just something to do when you have 4 friends over. it doesn't have to be Halo 2 goty multiplayer, of course that wouldn't hurt but damn just add something. coop, dm, something.  can 4 friends play prime together?? zelda WW? mario?? playing Smash Brothers OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER again gets very boring.

i don't know about you but i passed the age where i had to start buying my own games a long time ago and i want some replay value to my $50. not some game that isn't going to change if i play it again. yes Prime is a damn good game, but why should i play it again? the second time around won't be different, i'm going to do the exact same thing and i know what thye are going to do, the story is going to be the same, everything will almost be the same.  i can't say that with DM, it's a different game everytime.

Let me guess - you started playing games in the playstation generation, or worse - later ???

MP is a great single player game, and has plenty of replayability, especially with sequence breaking, and speed runs etc.

no, i started playing with the Atari/Nintendo generation. and since then they've lost the wonderful art of coop play. i remember many a game for the NES system that had coop play. guerilla war, double dragon, heavy barrel, there's final fight (but i think that came in the SNES era), and the list goes on i just don't remember anymore right now. but they lost coop play when the SNES came out and are just now getting back. i want that back. some of us need more than a simple single player game, because i beat Prime in 18 hours. there was nothing else i wanted to do in it. i couldn't play it with my friends, i like games that others can share in the fun with and Prime isn't one of those games. i know plenty of people who are getting tired of the single player only games, they can at least add coop missions, or something. developers have just gotten lazy since the NES days and the problem is people are letting them get away with it.

No, they can't add co-op. The whole point of Metroid is you are alone.

And the atmosphere so good that I actually feel alone when I play it. Having my buddy to my right doesn't make me feel alone, it makes me feel like I'm on a team.

Geist, on the other hand, would probably do very well with co-op and multiplayer.

Because like Turok and Halo it is a shooter (i refuse to use the "FP" now)

Yeah really, I wish people would stop trying to **** up a series just because they want a fragfest?. Don't bypass the swear filtr:angry:y: i>

On a side note, I wonder if the Phazon suit will come back into play come the next game. :unsure:e::angry:y:

like i said, if you wouldn't want to play coop you wouldn't have to, it's not like somebody would be forcing you to play multiplayer or coop. if you want to play by yourself all the time, then fine you can do that, but if some people want to enjoy a great game like Prime with friends, then there should be an option to do that. don't say they can't do it, because they did it with Zelda on the GBA. 4player coop. if they did it on the GBA, then they could easily do it on the GCN. if they can turn a game like Zelda into a coop experience, then they could it with Prime.

i don't know about you but WW was too easy and at least for me has no replay value. i'm not interested in playing essentially the same game by myself. if i could play it with some friends, then that would be fun, if only to see them get kill and do stupid stuff like shoot your parnter like in Halo coop.

Halo coop, it's an option not a requirement. Splinter Cell, a single player only game, but with the sequel they claim they plan on adding coop. it's better than nothing, i want to see how they implement it, but at least it's something.

The whole point of the zelda series wasn't about you being on your own, but that's what the metroid games were about - it just wouldn't work, anyway I very much doubt it could be done on the cube due to the way it loads rooms.
