Vaccinations, For or Against?

Recommended Posts

What's the confusion about vaccines again? There isn't much sense getting vaccinated for the seasonal flu unless you are an at risk group or come into contact with at risk groups. For pretty much everything else, get your shots and be safe.

1. If you cannot afford to take sick leave (paid, or otherwise), then having the flu shot to help protect you makes sense.

2. If you are a university student, and cannot afford to get sick fall behind by two weeks and fail a semester causing you to loose thousands of dollars.

3. If you are a school student and cannot afford to get sick and miss out on two weeks of learning and exams.

4. If you are travelling overseas and do not want to end up in a foreign hospital (even with travel insurance), or worse, to be quarantined by the Chinese or American authorities.

There are other good reasons such as living on your own and not having people around who can care for you when you get sick.
