The Two Towers on DVD

Recommended Posts

Ok, now I'll admit, I won't be purchasing the DVD, but I did rent it and.... WOW. Return of the King looks awesome! The extended edition of the film look fantastic as well. Who else scooped up the release the first day?

Rented and Superdrived. I've got the 4 disc on order for November though. The Return of The King does indeed look sweet and that's probably the best bit on the DVD.

Can't wait for the >12 Disc boxset when it comes out with all films. Imagine that, gotta be at least 12 to accommodate the 3 x 4 disc boxsets then they've gotta throw in a little sumin sumin  Gonna be sweet!

lol, they have to be. the first one has 4 disks, don't know how many the next 2 will have but if it's even 3 for each one that's alot of damn disks for 3 movies lol.

it's just like matrix reloaded. the dvd is coming out in october and i'll probably get the "preview" copy off various site to tide me over until the super duper 2 hours of bonus footage 3 pack comes out in like May lol.

makes me wonder how many disks will the super duper star wars box set be when it comes out lol. my biggest boxset right now is 9 disks, but that's an entire series not just a few movies.

Does anyone else feel like renaming the different versions of the movies?

Cinematic cut -> crippled cut

"Special extended edition" -> normal cut (a.k.a. the way it was supposed to be in the first place)

Newline gave Jackson 2:30 for the first 2 films and he took liberties and overran. Now it's a certified success they've granted him 3:00 for Return of the King. He'll obviously take liberties again so I wonder if they'll be a Special Extended edition for RoTK. If there is surely it would be breaching 4 hours :|

Actually both fellowship and the two towers were 3 hours long.

Boromir is back in flashbacks.

I didn't say they weren't, I said that's how long Newline said they could have. Jackson ignored that and went that much further. Hence the 3 hour target they imposed on RoTK possibly meaning the Directors edition reaching almost 4 hours.

What is the Gollum statue? Is that something that comes with the mega deluxe extended edition, like the two King statues for Fellowship? Links please?

Also Canadians don't get a free ticket to Return of the King.

Yeah, can't wait to get my hands on the five-disc set (or that's how many discs the set will have according to the newspaper I read) comming in November!

It's 4.

If they had more then just a "Making of the Statue" included then I would have bought it, but the 4 disc is enough, will look cool next to the book-like FoTR 4 disc boxset.

I'll wait for november to buy the extended version. I made the mistake last year to buy the first version and after seeing the EE release, there wasn't any question about which one was better.

It was already answered. I'll let you find it.

hehe found it.

Flashbacks? But it looked as if he was actually still part of the fellowship in it.

How about you watch the part where they mention his scenes are in flashback?

Idiot.
